I'm always trying to find different ideas for my decoration of cakes and cupcakes, so today I decided to share with you 6 different types of decorating Christmas cupcakes for all skill levels and likes.
You can make from a Chocolate cupcake, to a vanilla cupcake or even white cupcake recipe. For the vanilla buttercream frosting, here is the recipe I used.
You can also decide to add a delicious filling such as nutella, as shown in the last recipe link of the White Vanilla Cupcakes with Nutella filling where you will find detailed instructions on how to fill your cupcake succesfully; maybe add a nut, such as hazelnut, the way I did in my Ferrero Rocher Cupcakes with Nutella and Hazelnut filling.
When your cupcakes are done, filled and completely cooled, you can start with the Christmas decorations. You will find a detailed description of what materials you need to accomplish each cupcake design, which tip, icing type or decorative items. Feel free to experiment and try new things, and above all, have fun!!!
I piped Vanilla buttercream with a Wilton large closed star 2D tip for this cupcake, and added on top silver colored sugar pearls.
This cupcake has a very thin layer of vanilla buttercream so that the first layer of white fondant stars can stay in place. After that, I placed a few more white stars over the the holes left from the first layer, and in the end, a yellow fondant star in the middle of the cupcake.
For this cupcake I used yellow colored fondant cut into a small star and green colored vanilla buttercream piped with a 12 sized Wilton tip.
This cupcake was made with Vanilla buttercream piped with a Wilton large closed star 2D tip, white fondant cut into a snowflake and in the end I sprinkled golden glitter on top.
The complete snowman in this cupcake was made with yellow, blue, red and white fondant; the eyes and buttons where colored with a black food coloring pen. In the end, to cover the end of the white fondant, I piped vanilla buttercream with a number 16 Wilton tip.
For this last cupcake I added vanilla buttercream on the bottom to make it look like snow. Over it, I piped green colored vanilla buttercream in the form of Christmas trees with a number 16 Wilton tip and topped them with silver colored sugar pearls and green glitter.
