Low Fat Low Sugar Marbled Banana & Chocolate Bread

This recipe was inspired in a recipe I saw in SparkRecipes, with a few changes; If you want it to be less caloric, you can omit the dark chocolate chips... Enjoy without guilt!

  • 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoons No calorie sugar substitute
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup mashed banana
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa

  1. Preheat oven to 180° C (350° F). Grease a 10 inch loaf pan
  2. Mix in a large bowl the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and sugar substitute
  3. In another bowl mix the egg, mashed banana and apple sauce
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix well. It will be sticky
  5. Separate half the mix and add the cocoa, mixing well. Fold in 1/4 cup chocolate chips to the chocolate mix and the rest to the banana mix
  6. Pour banana mix into pan, then add the chocolate mix in the middle of the banana mix. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool and enjoy!
