Chocolate Birthday Cake

Today is Hubby's Birthday; He loved the last cake I made (Christmas Trees Chocolate Cake) so I decided to make the same cake with a Chocolate Fudge Frosting. Both recipes are from a Hersheys's pamphlet I have from a long time and they're absolutely delicious. This is definitely for Chocolate lovers!

Chocolate cake recipe

Chocolate Fudge Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2/3 cup cocoa
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. Melt the butter. Stir in the cocoa until well combined. Alternate the powdered sugar and milk and mix well. Add the vanilla extract.

To assembly:

  1. Cover completely with foil the cake and freeze for about 1 hour
  2. With a serrated knife, cut the two layers into four, carefully
  3. Assembly the four layer cakes with a layer of chocolate frosting in between. Add a very thin layer chocolate fudge frosting to the whole cake so the crumbs won't get into your frosting later on
  4. Decorate your cake with the remaining frosting

  1. mmmmmm!!! I want a slice of it!!!! great job! really nice!

  2. Delicious!! Happy B'day to your hubby :)

  3. This looks yummy, even at 8:30 in the morning. Happy birthday to your husband.
