Chocolate Sour Cream Frosting

If you like sour cream, this frosting is just for you! this is a sour, dense, not so sweet, chocolate frosting. I've made this with both chocolate cake and white cake and it turns out great with both options; note that the better the quality of the chocolate you use, the better the frosting will turn out.

Ingredients:
Adapted from Epicurius
Makes about 4 cups

  • 560 g. milk chocolate
  • 280 g. semisweet chocolate
  • 3 cups sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Melt the chocolate in a metal bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water, set aside and add the sour cream and the vanilla extract, stirring until the ingredients are completely mixed. Let it cool down until it gets on the desired consistency; you need to work with it right away because it could get thick really quickly, if this happens, heat it again until smooth.
